A noted social worker ex. Poura Commissioner and Mayor Pervez Miah’s Father Md. Abdus Sobahan (Champa Miah) died at Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital (SNMCH) on Wednesday noon. He was 96. He tested corona negative, but due to old-age complications his condition worsened.
He left behind his wife, two sons, one daughter and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
His namaz-e-janaza was held at local Shahidi mosque after Magribe prayer.
In a condolence massage, President Abdul Hamid and Rejowan Ahmed Tofiq MP, Noor Mohammad MP, Dr. Syeda Zakia Noor lipi MP, DC Mohammad Shamim Alam, SP Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar), Zila Parishad chairman Advocate Zillur Rahman, CS Dr. Mujibur Rahman, District Awami League President advocate Kamrul Ahasan Shajahan, its General Secretary advocate M. A Afzol, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Mohila Awami League district secretary Bilkis Begum and Sanak President Saiful Haque Mollah Dulu were expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Champa Miah.
