Speakers at a post-rally discussion have said the Social Service Department (SSD) has been playing very important role in accelerating socioeconomic development and social advancement.
The district administration and district SSD jointly organised the post-rally discussion at Shishu Academy auditorium in the city in observance of the National Social Service Day- 2015 on Friday afternoon.
Earlier, a huge rally, participated by officials and employees of the administration, different government departments and organisations, students, civil society members, socio-cultural and social activists, was brought out in the city streets.
Deputy Director of the district SSD Nazmun Nahar attended and addressed the discussion as the chief guest with Deputy Superintendent of the Government Shishu Paribar (Boys) Nazrul Islam in the chair.
Gangachara Upazila Social Service Officer Mosaddekur Rahman and Badarganj Upazila Social Service Officer Humayun Kabir addressed the discussion as the special guests.
Field Worker of Kawnia Upazila Social Service Office Abul Mokarram and its Office Assistant Mohammad Shafi Uddin also addressed the discussion moderated by Rangpur City Officer of SSD Emdadul Haque Pramanik.
The speakers elaborately narrated the massive activities being conducted by the government through the SSD to ensure welfare and development of different cross sections of the population, including the suffering humanity, in the society.
The chief guest in her speech, called upon the officials and employees of SSD to further glorify image of the department through rendering the best services by working with utmost sincerity and dedication in conducting their responsibilities.
