Barendra Unnahyan Prochesta (BUP), a rights-based development organization, organized the consultation titled “Social Responsibility to Prevent Aggressive Terrorism and Communalism” at Master Chef Restaurant in Rajshahi metropolis in association with UNDP.
With BUP Director Foyzullah Chowdhury in the chair, Principal of Rajshahi Court Degree Collage Prof Shafiqur Rahman Badsha and former registrar of Rajshahi University Prof Abdus Salam addressed the discussion as chief and special guests respectively.
President of Shaw Unnayan Mustafizur Rahman Khan, Local unit President of Bangladesh Mohila Parishad Kolpona Roy, former director of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sekendar Ali, General Secretary of Rajshahi Rakkha Sangram Parishad Jamat Khan and Executive Director of Anagrasar Samaj Unnayaan Sangstha Raj Kumar Shawn also sdpoke.
During his concept paper presentation , Akbarul Hassan Millat, Editor of Daily Sonar Desh, underscored the need for proper motivation and counseling among the new generation on demerits and consequences of social crimes including terrorism, communinalism and militancy.
He says collective efforts of law-enforcers and communities including Imams and other Islamic scholars could be the effective means of preventing and eradicating all sorts of terrorism, militancy, terror attacks and drug-addiction.
In his remarks, Prof Badsha termed the militants, terrorists and other perpetrators as enemies of the state and said forging social resistance against the crimes has become an urgent need as the government is determined to eliminate those.
He mentioned eradicating all sorts of terrorism particularly terror attacks and militancy is the precondition to uphold peace and social harmony everywhere in the society for the sake of taking forward the country successfully.
