Speakers at a discussion meeting underlined the need for raising massive awareness against drug abuse and illegal trafficking and building up social movement to remove all the barriers on the way to stem the drug addiction, illicit drug trading and trafficking.
District administration and district narcotics control department jointly organized the meeting at the official conference room of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Netrakona to mark the international day against drug abuse and illegal trafficking on Saturday. The discussion meeting was held on the theme “be aware of drugs, save generation, save lives” following health safety rules amid Covid-19 pandemic situation.
DC Netrakona Kazi Mohammad Abdur Rahman addressed the meeting as chief guest while additional district magistrate Suhel Mahmud was in the chair.
Assistant director of district narcotics department Ali Haider Rasel presented key note paper on the theme at the meeting.
It was addressed, among others, by additional police super Netrakona Faqruzzaman Juwel, general secretary of Netrakona press club Muklesur Rahman Khan and journalists Shamolendu Paul and AKM Abdullah.
