Social movement to root out militancy, terrorism stressed

Bangladesh Police started pasting anti-militancy posters on walls, pillars and electric poles of different areas of Gaibandha district from Sunday with a view to building social movement to root out militancy and terrorism from the society.
The posters have been printed with the slogan — “Say No to Militancy”.
The poster pasting function was held at the traffic intersection No-1 at DB Road of the town.
Superintendent of police (SP) of Gaibandha M. Ashraful Islam addressed the inaugural function as the chief guest while Officer-in-Charge (OC) of sadar Thana AKM Mehedi Hasan moderated the function.
Joint Secretary of Gaibandha District Awami Leauge Mozammel Haque, President of upazila AL Rezaul Karim Reza, member of Bangladesh Community Policing Forum (BCPF) Saiful Alam and others spoke on the occasion.
Addressing the function SP M. Ashraful Islam said like other departments and organizations of the government Bangladesh Police also want to see a militant free Bangladesh.
He also called for working together to build a social movement to root out militancy from the society for ever.
Later, SP inaugurated the pasting of posters on the electric pole and wall of Gaibandha
Government Women’s College in the town.
