Social movement for ending violence against children

There is no alternative to creating mass awareness to prevent all sorts of repressions and violence against children for transforming them into worthy citizens, said development activists at a roundtable discussion here today.
They viewed all of us should raise voice and work together to address the social problem collectively as only the government or any other single organization cannot bring any positive result in this regard.

Bangladesh jointly organized the meeting titled “Our Duties to Prevent Child Repression” at a city restaurant.
With LOFS Vice president Azizur Rahman in the chair, Assistant Professor Mustafizur Rahman from Department of Anthropology in Rajshahi University, Upazila Social Service Officer Abu Taher, Executive Director of LOFS Shahnaz Parveen Luckey and ADP Manager of World Vision Debashish Snul addressed the discussion as guests of honour.
LOFS Panel Lawyer Shahinul Haque presented a facts finding about violence and repression against children in the city.
The discussants narrated situations about repressions and violence against children in various forms and called for comprehensive efforts of all stakeholders including the GO-NGOs, civil society and every citizen to this end.
Terming the child marriage as the major violence and gross violation of human rights they mentioned there is no alternative to check it substantially.
