Corruption Prevention Week observed: Social movement for corruption free society stressed

Speakers at an anti-corruption meeting’ here on Wednesday stressed for comprehensive efforts of all concerned in launching social movement involving every citizen for building a corruption free society.
They also underlined the importance of establishing accountability in every government offices and inspire the young generation to build an anti-corruption mindset among the people of the country. The meeting organised by District Corruption Prevention Committee (DCPC) as a part of their programme in observance of Corruption Prevention Week at Deputy Commissioner’s conference room with its president Prof. Surja Kantha Das in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner Abu Hena Morshed Zaman attended the meeting as Chief Guest while Police Super Amena Begum, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Suraiya Begum were present as special guests.
Sylhet Correspondent reports: Speakers at a post-rally discussion here on Sunday called upon the young generations, including students, for launching social movement in changing social mindset for building a corruption-free Bangladesh.
District Corruption Prevention Committee (DCPC) arranged the Scholers Home in observance of the Corruption Prevention Week- 2015 from March 26 to April 1 with the theme ‘Unitedly We Vow to Hate the Corrupts.’ Earlier, a colourful rally, participated by over 2000 students and members of the ‘Satota Sangha’ from 12 educational institutions, officials, teachers, members of the DCPC, NGO activists, civil society members and elite, was brought out in the streets.
The DCPC with the assistances of the District Combined Office of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and Justice Reform and Corruption Prevention (JRCP) Project of RDRS Bangladesh has been observing the week through elaborate programmes.
With president of the DCPC Jubaer Siddiki in the chair, Deputy Commissioner of the Sylhet District Md. Shohidul Islam addressed the discussion as the chief guest.
Thakurgaon Correspondent reports: Anti-Corruption Week has began in Pirganj from Thursday to create awareness about anti-corruption among the people. Pirganj Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee organised the programme. Road meeting, Human chain, Oath taking for the member of Integrity Unit, view-sharing meeting. display and documentary film were included the programme .On the occasion a view-exchange meeting was held at upazila hall room in Pirganj yesterday (Tuesday). Md. Musa Sarkar, President Upazila Anti-Corruption Prevention Committee, Pirganj presided over the meeting. Where Upazila Parishad chairman Md. Ziaul Islam Zia was present as chief guest and Upazila Nirbahi Officer ABM Iftekharul Islam khandakar was present as special guest. Among others UP chair man Md Akramul Haque, Upazila Fisheries officer Md. Foysal Azom, Medical Officer Zannatul Ferdos Bappy, Education officer Md. Nazrul Islam, Secondary Education officer Md. Tofazzol Hossein, PIO Tariqul Islam, Vice-president Upazila Anti-Corruption Prevention Committee Moffakharul Islam, member Samima Akter and Mizanur Rahman, Bishnu pada Roy Pirganj Correspondent. Dainik Alor kontha were present and spoken on the occasion. Md. Mokaddes Hayat Milon, General Secretary, Upazila Anti-Corruption Prevention Committee, Pirganj conducted the function.
BSS from Rangpur adds: Preventing corruption has become an essence of the time through launching vigorous social movement, involving the young generations, to accelerate national development, speakers said here on Wednesday night.
They were addressing the prize giving and concluding ceremony arranged in observance of the Corruption Prevention Week-2015 with the theme of ‘Unitedly We Will Build Corruption-free Bangladesh’ at Town Hall auditorium in the city.
