BSS, Dhaka :
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, said on Sunday that Facebook and other social media would remain free, despite many provocations.
‘It is true that it is being used to spread lies and rumors but that will not be tolerated, “he said.
The minister was speaking at a meeting at the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB).
He said having exhausted all other means the communal forces are now spreading fabricated news on Facebook and other social media.
“They were trying to use it to justify the genocide of 1971 and the killing of Bangabnbandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They are even saying that the grenades that went off on August 21, 2004 came out from the vanity bag of Sheikh Hasina,” he said.
Inu also said that the social media was being used to sow discord between Awami League and JASHOD.
