UNB, Dhaka :Soccer Club, Feni will lock horns with traditional Mohammedan Sporting Club in the final of the Modhumoti Bank Independence Cup Football Tournament at Bangabandhu National Stadium today (Saturday).The match will begin at 5pm. State-run satellite channel BTV World will telecast the match live. State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Shikder MP will witness the final match as the chief guest and distribute prizes among the teams at the closing ceremony. Humayun Kabir, chairman of title sponsor Modhumoti Bank Limited, will attend the ceremony as a guest of honour while its executive committee chairman Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh MP as a special guest.Despite Feni was in the bottom with zero point at the end of the first leg, the surprising district team Soccer Club, Feni reached the final of such a tournament for the first time shocking experienced Brothers Union in the 1st semifinal by 2-0 goals on Tuesday.Mohammedan Sporting Club confirmed their final berth eliminating their customary arch-rival Dhaka Abahani by solitary goal in the 2nd semifinal on the following day. Their foreign players are very good. We have to be cautious not to be any mistake,” Capella said in a press conference at the BFF Bhaban on Friday afternoon. But he is confident about winning the title. “If we can play our potential, we’ll win the title. It’s our all team work to individual players.” Meanwhile, the Gambian coach of Feni Soccer, Omar K Sisse, is ready to win the final. “We’re ready to win the title with the best performance. Reaching final is a very big achievement for us. And we’re not in a position to take anything lightly. We want to win the title at any cost,” said Omar.Omar, however, has respect for the opponent. “Mohammedan is a strong team.
