Soccer Club, Feni forced league leader Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to split points when their match ended in 2-2 goal draw in the Nitol-Tata Bangladesh Premier Football League held on Sunday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city.
In the day’s match, Sheikh Jamal went early attacks as Wedson Anselme saw his fierce right footer shot off midfielder Sohel Rana’s cut back return to play after hitting the cross bar in the 4th minute of the match.
Sheikh Jamal however went ahead in the 14th minute after Sony Norde made his way through the left flank and sent a neat square pass to onrushing Wedson who scored with a powerful shot from the top of the box (1-0).
Sheikh Jamal increased their lead double in the 31st minute with Wedson scoring his second. Midfielder Shahed sent the through pass to Wedson from the midfield and the Haitian scored with an angular placing shot (2-0).
However, Feni bounced back with a strike in the 32nd minute as Jamal defender Didarul Haque’s clearance from the middle of the box hit onrushing Soccer forward Kabba Jobe’s foot and deflected into the near post (2-1).
Three minutes later Kabba Jobe, the Gambian forward headed home a free kick curved by Soccer defender Ramjan (2-2).
In the dying stage Jamal’s Nigerian forward Emeka Dalington, Wedson missed a certain scoring chances.
Sheikh Jamal improved their tally with 28 points from 12 matches while Feni Soccer also took their tally to 8 points from the same number of outings.
