Hundreds of people throng the spot to witness the catastrophe of the fire
A fire has broken out at a soap factory in city’s Kosaituli, Bongshal area on Saturday.
Officials of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD), said the fire broke out around 5:45pm, but the cause of the fire and its casualty could not be known immediately. Inspector Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge (OC-Investigation) of Bongshal police station, said despite two-hour efforts of the firefighters, the fire engulfed the entire factory as hi-flammable materials were inside it. Irin Parveen, duty officer of the FSCD, said: “Upon information, eight units of the firefighters rushed in and have been trying to douse the fire.”
Hundreds of people thronged the spot to witness the catastrophe of the fire.
