Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) confiscated huge smuggling and narcotics goods, including Yaba tablets, foreign and local liquor, beer, cannabis, heroin, gold, clothes, automobile, wood and arms last month worth 83.38 crore.
A press release signed by Public Relation Officer Muhammad Mohsin Reza disclosed it.
In the press release, BGB mentioned they forfeited 11, 48,094 pieces of yaba tablets, 6,524 bottles foreign liquor; 387 litres local liquor; 1,103 kan beer;
31,710 bottles of phensedyl; 864 kg cannabis; one kg heroin; 1,05,429 aneggra/ seneggra; 12,580 pieces drug injection tablet; 7.2 kg gold; 4,505 pieces sharee; 947 three-pieces/ shirt-pieces; 440 meter raw clothes; 2, 176 pieces ready made cloths; 12 pieces pick up; six CNG auto-rickshaw; 34 bikes; 4, 156 cubic meter wood and 7,213 kg tea leaves.
BGB also seized firearms. They forfeited 18 pistols; 4-air pistols; one pipe gun; 77 rounds of bullets; 15 magazines, and six kg gun power.
Besides, BGB arrested 224 men suspecting their involvement in smuggling. BGB also arrested 320 men for crossing the border.
It is remarkable that from January to November 2018, Border Guard Bangladesh confiscated goods of smuggling and narcotics worth Tk 854.4 crore.
