Smuggled goods worth Tk 1.62 cr seized from Hili frontiers

Anti-smuggling Task Force and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate raids seized huge smuggled goods worth Taka 1.62 crore from Hili frontiers under Hakimpur upazila in Dinajpur on Friday, BGB sources said.
Led by Hakim Upazila Nirbahi Officer Azaharul Islam, the Anti-smuggling Task Force team comprising of BGB, police and customs officers conducted raids at different shops in Hili Bazaar and seized huge smuggled clothes.
The seized goods include Indian saree, three pieces, bed sheets and shirt pieces worth over Taka 1.26 crore.
Besides, the members of BGB from Basudebpur outpost seized huge quantities of smuggled Indian saree and three pieces worth over Taka 35.60 lakh in a separate raid conducted at Basudebpur border on the same frontier.
The BGB authority deposited the seized goods with Hili Custom’s authorities today, the sources added.
