State Minister for Power, Energy and Minerals Resources Nasrul Hamid on Sunday said, the government will continue supply of energy uninterruptedly to consumers.
To meet the growing demand with the expansion of economy, the ministry will ensure highest use of gas, coal, LNG and LP gas only for people’s interest,
he said. The Minister said this while addressing a function for inaugurating three gas extraction wells at Jalalabad in Sylhet on Sunday. Gas extraction from well JB-6, JB-7 and JB-9 has developed, and its maintenance is done by US oil company Chevron. About 130MMCF gas will be added in national gas grid daily from these gas wells. Chevron worked block -13 and block-14.
Petrobangla Chairman Ishtiaque Ahmad, President of Chevron Bangladesh Kevin Lyon and official of Energy division, among others were present.
