Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu termed the Small and Medium entrepreneurs (SME) as the main engine for achieving development goals and their innovative ideas and techniques should be used for hastening industrialization in Bangladesh.
“The skill of entrepreneurs can adapt quickly to changing market situation including achieving export target, generate employment, help diversify economic activities and make a significant contribution to exports and trade,” he added.
The industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu said this as chief guest while inaugurating three-day 1st international Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) fair held at Bangabandhu Conference hall of World Trade Center (WTC) on Saturday.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) organized function. Speaking at the function, the Minister said though SMEs are based on relatively small investment, their survival depends on readily available market with easy access but it has controlled 70 percent business activates in the country.
“SMEs provided 80 to 85 percent employment opportunities and 35 percent total internal productions in the country” he added.
