Monthlong 8th International Women’s SME Expo-2014 will formally be inaugurated in Chittagong from November 8 next but the fair preparatory activities will begin from today(Sunday). The fair will be arranged at Pologround Maidan in city.
Under the auspices of Chittagong Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry(CWCCI) with the patronization of Export Promotion Bureau, FBCCI, SME Foundation and Jute Diversification Promotion Centre(JDPC) , one of the largest women’s fair in south east asia will begin in the port city.
CWCCI is arranging this SME fair 15 years ago and this is the 8th of this fair .
This was disclosed at a press conference held at Chittagong Press club auditorium yesterday morning. The press meet as told that Minister for Commerce Tofayel Ahmed MP is expected to inaugurate the fair as chief guest while the state minister for Land Ministry Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed MP, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki MP and the President of FBCCI Akram Uddin Ahmed will attend the inaugural session as special guests.
The press meet urged upon all irres;pective of opinions and party affiliations to extend cooperation to make success of the fair.
Sources said the fair will remain open from 10 am to 10 pm every day and the entry fee fixed at Tk.15 per pax.
There will be 300 stalls, 20 pavillions in the fair, the press meet said. Co-sponsors of the fair are – Ispahani Ltd, BRAC Bank, Walton, Mir Group, Confidence cement, N.Mohd Group, Intraco and the Dainik Azadi as media partner, sources said.
