FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmed has said small traders and local businessmen need to know the government’s position on the revised VAT law.
“We still do not have any clear idea about VAT rates and earnings of small traders,” the chief of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) told a discussion on the new law at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh, on Wednesday.
“As the National Board of Revenue (NBR) treats us as its partners, we want to know about VAT rates in the new law,” he added.
Presiding over the discussion, Law Minister Anisul Huq said the VAT law, which will come into effect on July 1, will contribute to increasing revenues.
