Former Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary and member of Planning Commission SM Ghulam Farooque on Monday joined as Secretary of Rural Development and Co-operatives Division (RDCD).
He worked as Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration and Ministry of Education. He served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Industries and Ministry of Public Administration.
Farooque also worked as Director in Prime Minister’s Office and as Senior Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Defence. In the field of administration, he worked as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Magistrate, an official release said.
SM Ghulam Farooque was born on June 01, 1960 in a noble Muslim family at Shariatpur district of Bangladesh. He obtained BSS (Honours) and MSS degree in 1981 and 1982 respectively from the Sociology Department of University of Dhaka. He joined Bangladesh Civil Service Administration cadre in 1983.
