A half slaughtered dead body which tendons of wrists and legs were cut was recovered by the police from a canal of village Kharaikhali within Panchakaran Union under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district on Friday in the morning. The dead body was identified as Riad (35), a local Awami League worker and son of one Siddiq Sahikh of Panchakaran village.
Abdur Razzaq Majumdar, Chairman of Panchakaran Union disclosed, Raid had been missing since Wednesday in the after noon. Some locals found the dead body floating in the canal in the morning and informed the police of the matter. Police rushed to the spot, recovered the dead body and sent it to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for its autopsy.
According to the police, signs of stabbing were noticed on the dead body. Moreover, tendons of both wrists and legs and a half of the neck of the dead body were found cut.
