Slaughtered dead body of missing man recovered in shoal of Gournadi under Barisal district on Sunday night.
Abul Kalam, Gournadi police station officer in charge, said the recovered dead body was identified as Karam Ali Sardar, 70, from Miar Char of Muladi.
Bazlur Rahman Sardar, son of the victim, identifying the dead body, said his father Karam Ali remained missing since last three days and they have rivalry over land properties with Akkas Shikdar of Miar Char of Gournadi.
A general diary was lodged with Muladi police station after missing of Karam Ali, he added. Gournadi police station officer in charge said after informed by local people police recovered the dead body at about 7:30 PM Sunday and detained one Akkas Shikdar in this connection.
The dead body would be sent to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital for autopsy and lodging case was under process till this report, police sources said.
