Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon has directed the concerned officials to remove the waste of sacrificial animals within 24 hours.
The Mayor told it to the city corporation’s cleaners while addressing a programme organized in the capital’s Nagar Bhaban on Wednesday.
Sayeed Khokon called upon the city dwellers to slaughter their animals at designated spots under DSCC to avoid environmental and health hazards.
At least five spots in each ward have been designated this year in the City Corporation for slaughtering sacrificial animals during the Eid-ul-Azha, he said.
A hotline, 09611000999 will be opened for informing cleaners to take immediate steps for removing waste, he added.
