Skilled teachers for ensuring quality education stressed

Skill development of the teachers has become imperative for conducting academic activities to make the students easily understand lessons for ensuring quality education at all levels.
Educationists expressed the view at a workshop on ‘Improving standard of education and skill development of teachers’ held yesterday at Doikhawa Adarsha College under Hatibandha upazila in Lalmonirhat.
The Department of Bengali of Doikhawa Adarsha College organised the daylong workshop for the teachers of the educational institution with its Principal Mofazzal Hossain in the chair.
Head of the Department of Bengali of Kawnia Degree College in Rangpur and noted researcher on Rabindra Nath Tagore Dr Swasswato Bhattacharya conducted the workshop as the main resource person.
In the concluding ceremony, the resource person put emphasis on skill development of the teachers for properly conducting academic activities in classrooms adopting modern methodologies and teaching techniques to make the students easily understand lessons.
He also explained meaning and inputs of quality education, prevailing problems and way-outs to improve standard of education, modern learning and teaching methodologies, national education policy and responsibilities of the teachers.
Dr Bhattacharya put special importance on acquiring latest scientific methodologies by the teachers to build up genuine teaching capacities and skills in flourishing latent talent of the students through making classes interesting amid congenial atmosphere.
Principal Mofazzal Hossain called for joint collaboration of the government and non-government organisations and authorities of the educational institutions to ensure quality education at all levels for producing worthy and knowledgeable citizens.
“There is no alternative to enhance teaching skills and techniques of the teachers to further improve standard and quality of education for producing properly educated citizens and reviving the past glory of the teaching profession,” he said.
