State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haq Chunnu said skill development is essential for empowerment of women.
“The country will march forward further, if the women become self-reliant,” he said this on Saturday while speaking as chief guest at a workshop at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city.
Labour and employment ministry, Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and World Bank CSR jointly organized the ‘National Workshop on NARI: Women’s Empowerment Bangladesh Garments Industry Collaboration With CSR.’
The state minister urged all to come forward to train women to develop them as skilled workforce. Women’s skills and development are closely related, he said.
Secretary of Labour and Employment Ministry Michael Shipper, Additional Secretary Syed Nurul Islam and Joint Secretary Majibur Rahman also addressed the workshop.
