Sheikh Russel KC finished runners-up in the eleven-team Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League outplaying Rahmatganj MFS by 4-0 goals in their last league match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Sunday.
Cameroonian forward Paul Emile slammed the 9th hat-trick of the league scoring three goals to steer his team towards the comfortable victory.
Captain Mithun Chowdhury put Russel ahead in the 42nd minute from the edge of the box (1-0)
Cameroonian forward Paul Emile doubled the lead in the 57th minute by a good header, utlizing a curved corner of winger Zahid Hasan (2-0).
Paul Emile scored his 2nd and the 3rd goals for Sheikh Russel in the 62nd minute, also by a header, off a cross Mithun Chowdhury cross from the left wing (3-0).
Paul Emile scored the 9th hattrick in the league scoring his 3rd and the 4th goal for Sheikh Russel in the 70th minute.
Captain Mithun Chowdhury cut a through pass to Paul who netted the ball with a nice placing shot beating Rahmatganj goalie Ashim Das (4-0)
With the the day feat, Sheikh Russel KC finished league runners-up securing 42 points from 20 matches while Rahamtagnj finished in the 10th slot in the 11-team fray with 14 points from 20 matches.
Earlier, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club retained the league title with two matches spare and comfortably dominated the league table securing 48 points from 19 encounters.
Federation cup and premier league champions Sheikh Jamal DC, now in Kyrgyzstan to play in the AFC Cup play-off Qualifiers, will play their remaining league match against Dhaka Abahani Limited on August 20, result of which would not effect their title.
