A total of sixty tonnes of hilsa have been exported to India from Barishal in several installments on the occasion of upcoming Sharodiya Durga Puja. Nirab Hossain Tutul, a leading hilsa exporter and owner of Mahima Enterprises, confirmed this news on Sunday afternoon.
According to the letter of the Ministry of Commerce, it is known that the order to export hilsa from Bangladesh to India on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja festival will remain in effect subject to conditions until September 30.
In continuation of this, total sixty tonnes of hilsa have been exported to India till 10:00 PM on Saturday night by four authorized export companies at Port Road in Barishal City.
Last Saturday night, the private company left for India with 8 tonnes of hilsa in two trucks.
Before this, 52 tons of hilsa were sent to India in three rounds. He also said that Hilsa can be sent to India till September 30.
Two killed in Kalapara road accident
Leg amputated mother Mukta Begum (42) died in a road accident on Saturday afternoon at Kalapara of Patuakhali. Earlier on Saturday noon her son Jihad (12) died on the spot in the accident. The tragic road accident took place following collision between three-wheeler and a trolley.
On the spot Jihad, the infant son of Mukta Begum of Morichbunia village, was killed. Then two legs of critically injured Mukta Begum were amputated. In addition, her elder daughter Mim Akhtar was also seriously injured.
Besides three wheeler driver Mahmud Nuru, passenger Jahanara Begum, her youngest son Junayed, local cable operator Muhammad Dulal, and two other were also injured.
Among them conditions of Junayed, Jahanara Begum sent to Dhaka for better treatment and Mim at Barishal SBMCH still in critical till condition this report.
OC of Kalapara police station Muhammad Jasim said that the owner and driver of the trolley are accused in the incident. Police are still trying to arrest them and a case has been filed in this connection.
