Six shops fined Tk 1.80 lakh by DNCC mobile court

A mobile court of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) fined Tk 1.80 lakh on charge of selling rotten fishes and goods without face value and keeping goods on the way to the people for free movement in the city’s Gulshan area on Monday.
The DNCC Executive Magistrate Mohammad Sazid Anwar passed the order as per the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.
He also filed six cases and cancelled two trade licenses of two shop
owners and alerted some shops for their irregularities.
The DNCC mobile court led by Mohammad Sazid Anwar conducted a raid in shopping mall Swapna in Gulshan-1 and fined Tk one lakh on charge of selling rotten fishes and goods without face value.
It also fined Tk 30 thousand for stocking different food items inside a refrigerator at Caprican restaurant in the same area.
The law enforcers have raided at Siraj Restaurant and fined Tk 25 thousand for selling goods by taking extra price. They also filed three cases against the restaurant authorities.
The team also conducted a drive in the DNCC Kitchen Market and fined Tk 25 thousands against three shop owners and filed three more cases against them on charge of keeping goods on the way to people for free moving there.
