Six publication houses got the ‘Bangla Academy Gunijan Award 2018’ in four categories after the name of four eminent personalities.
Bangla Academy Director and Member Secretary of the Amar Ekushey Grantha Mela Committee Dr Jalal Ahmed told media that the award is being given marking the ongoing Amar Ekushey Grantha Mela (book fair) considering books published in 2017.
The award will be handed over to the recipients in the concluding ceremony of the book fair today (February 28).
Prothoma Prokashan got Chittaranjan Saha Smirity Award-2018 for publishing the highest number of quality books in 2017.
Bengal Publications got Munier Choudhury Smrity Award in the category of the best book in terms of quality and artistic standard for publishing ‘Prithibir Pothe Hete’, written by Alaknanda Patel, while Journeyman Books got this ward for ‘Bangladesher Pratnatattik Uttoradhikar’, written by Sufi Mustafizur Rahman and Samay Prakashan for ‘Mini Bishwakosh Pakhi’, edited by Main Ahmed.
