Six pharmacies fined over Tk 36,000 in Gafargaon

A mobile court in Mymensingh’s Gafargaon has fined six pharmacies Tk 36,500 for possessing and selling expired, unauthorized and physician drugs. A mobile court headed by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Acting Magistrate Kaberi Roy conducted the operation from morning till noon on Wednesday.
 A team from Upazila Health Complex and Gafargaon Khana Police assisted in the operation. During the operation in front of the Upazila Health Complex, Messrs. Sami Medical Hall was charged Tk. 10,000, Mom Medical Hall Tk. 8,000, Selima Medical Hall Tk. 6,000, Jasim Medical Hall Tk. 3, 500, Haji Medical Hall was fined Tk 1,000 and Sumon Medical Hall Tk 6,000.
At that time, the court confiscated a large quantity of expired, unauthorized and Fijian drugs from each pharmacy. Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Acting Magistrate Kaberi Roy said the operation would be carried out in the public interest.
