Six people put on remand for creating public nuisance

Six people were put on remand yesterday (Monday) for attacking police over creating nuisance through creating loud sounded music at night in Bhatara area of the capital.
Magistrate Mamun-or-Rashid of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka passed the order on Monday granting one-day remand for each of the six accused after hearing.
Earlier, the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case sought seven days’ remand for each accused.
The First Information Report (FIR) says, on Sunday at 11.55 pm, some people of Joarsahara’s Khanpara Abul Barek Khan Road under Bhatara Police Station were playing back loud sounded music using sound system in local Badsha garage. Thus they were creating an in-disciplined situation in the area which made the local people intolerant and they informed police of the incident.
Later, police came over there at 12.05 am and asked the disturbing people to stop their loud sounded music. However, the disturbing elements were continuing their disturbing activities ignoring the instruction of the police. They asked the police to go away. The police told them that their loud music and song creating problem for the people but they did not pay hid to the request of police and continued their indecent action. At one stage they started arguing with police and torned the uniform of the law enforcers. They also assaulted SI Mohammad Ali. Later, they made attempt to kill police and bit SI Mohammad Ali using stick. They hit on his head and he was injured seriously on the spot.
After getting information, additional police force of Bhatara Police Station rushed to the spot and saved the attacked police while SI Mohammad Ali filed a case with the police station under Section 143/307/ and 353 of the Penal Code. Later, police conducted raid in the area and arrested the six accused people.
