The 15-man squad of Bangladesh Cricket team for upcoming ICC Champions Trophy and Tri-Nation series is scheduled to announce on April 19. Bangladesh, Ireland and New Zealand will take part in the Tri-Nation series before starting the ICC Champions Trophy.
Chief Selector of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Minhajul Abedin Nannu went to BKSP in Savar on Wednesday to watch the match of Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Cricket League.
Nannu said to the newsmen, ” We shall included six pacers in our squad for the upcoming Tri-Nation series and ICC Champions Trophy. Besides, a specialist batsman will be included in the squad.”
Earlier, BCB included five pacers in the squad for outgoing Sri Lanka series. They are: Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shubashis Roy and Rubel Hossain.
The Team Management of BCB will include another pacer as the pitches of Ireland and England will be act infavour of pacers. In that case, Shafiul Islam or all-rounder Saifuddin will be included in the squad.
Bangladesh Cricket team will leave the city for England on April 26. There the members will take part in the conditioning camp to adapt with the weather and environment of England. The Tri-Nation series will start on May 12 and will come to an end on May 24.
Then the ICC Champions Trophy will begin on June 1 between the match of Bangladesh and England at Kennington Oval in London, the capital city of England.
