Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested at least six alleged muggers during several drives in city’s separate areas who are involved in hijacking auto-rickshaw on Monday.
The culprits were identified as Harun-0r-Rashid, 28, Ruhul Amain, 36, Md Jamal Hossain, 60, Md Sohel Khan, 40, Wali-Ullah alias Joy, 21, and Md Rashid Khan, 45.
During the drive, RAB also seized a CNG and seven mobile phones.
The raid was conducted by RAB in city’s Mirpur Darus Salam, Demra, and Dakhin Khan from Sunday night to Monday morning. Gang members said that they generally hijacked CNG vehicles and inform it to the owner demanding huge money.
Monjur Kabir, Additional DIG and Captain of RAB-4 confirmed the matter to the media.
