Six more killed in road crashes

At least six more persons were killed and 30 others critically injured in separate road crashes across the country on Thursday.
In Chattogram, three motorcyclists were killed after its driver losing control on the bike in Osmanpur area under Mirsarai upazila on Thursday noon.
The deceased were identified as Arif Hossain,20, son of one Nurul Abasar, Ismail Hossain,22, son of one Muslim Uddin, and Mahadi Hasan,28, son of Shah Alam.
All were the inhabitants of same upazila.
The accident took place when the motorbike with the trio hit a roadside tree as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving all of them dead on the spot, said Md Iftekhar Hasan, Officer in Charge of Jorarganj police staiton.
The victims were returning home from Muhuri Irrigation Project in Sonagazi of Feni. Two of them hailed from Ichakhali area while another from Osmanpur , he added.
In Manikganj, an assistant of a bus was killed and at least 20 passengers injured when  
a Khulna-bound bus of Green Line Paribahan fell into a ditch beside Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Ghior upazila of Manikganj early Thursday (March 14).
The accident occurred around 12am.
Deceased Harun, 40, was from Noakhali district.
Borongail Highway Police Outpost In-Charge Yamin Ud Doula told the news media.
In Jamalpur, a driver was killed when his truck plunged into a ditch after breaking the railing of a bridge in Phulkarchar area of Roumari in Jamalpur early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Mobarak Ali, 30, from Bortia village under Sherpur district sadar.
Islampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aslam Hossain confirmed the matter to media.
In Pabna, a pedestrian was killed when a local Botboti hit him in ishwardi upazila of the district. The deceased was identified as Ganesh Goiro, 55, a local trader.
