Six more killed in road crashes

At least six more persons including three students were killed and 20 others seriously injured in separate road accidents across the country on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In Cumilla, at least two schoolgirls were killed in separate road accidents in Sadar Dakkhin and Chandina upazilas of the district on Tuesday morning during the Independence, National Day celebration.
At Chandina, a teenage girl named Mahmuda Akhter Yeasmin was killed when a truck rammed her at Kutumbapur area of the upazila on Tuesday morning.
Yeasmin was a ninth grader student of a High School.
Local sources said, the accident took place when she was returning home after attending a programme marking the Independence Day. Agitated students barricaded the highway, disrupting traffic movement on the busy road for a while. Police later brought the situation under control.
At Sadar Dakkhin, another school girl named Rina Saha, was killed after a human hauler plunged into a roadside ditch at Maktarpur in the upazila around 8:30am.
Rina was a student of class-X of Bijoypur High School.
Mizanur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Dakkhin Police Station said.
In Lakshmipur, a college student named Adnan Hossain was killed and three others injured in a road crash when a motorcycle hit an auto-rickshaw at Khilbaisa in Sadar upazila of Lakshmipur district on Wednesday.
Deceased Adnan Hossain was the first-year student of Lakshmipur Government College. He was the son of one Ismail Hossain of the Mirzapur village.
Dr Anwar Hossain, Resident Physician of Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital confirmed the news to the media.
In Chattogram, tempu passenger named Krisno Kumar Chandra was killed and five more injured after a tempu overtuned at Fisherigate area of the city early Wednsday.
In Brahmanbaria, one person named Saydur Rahman, 35, was killed when a truck hit him in Islampur under Bijaynagar upazila of the district.
Fayjul Ajim Noman, Officer-in-Charge of Bijaynagar Police Station told the news to the media.
