At least six persons, including a women, were killed and 40 others critically injured in several road crashes across the country on Tuesday.
In Shariatpur, three persons died and 30 others got injured when a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch under Damuda upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.
The victims were identified as Kamaruzzaman Mahmud Munsi, 45, son of one Nuruzzaman Munsi, from Sida village under Damuda upazila, and
Yakub Paik, 80, from Daushin Damuda village and Dulas Mollah, 28, son of one Khaleq Molla from Kulkuri village of Damuda municipality.
Out of 30 injured, 15 are being treated in hospitals including Damuda Upazila Health Complex.
Md Mohaiminul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Damuda Circle) confirmed the news to the media.
In Dhaka, a woman was killed in a tragic road crash when a passenger bus ran over her in the city’s Shantinagar area on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Ruma, 30, an employee of Quantum Foundation and wife of one Shafiqul Islam of South Dania in Dhaka.
Local sources said that a bus of ‘Al Makkah Paribahan’ rammed Ruma when she was getting down from it at Shantinagar Intersection around 9am, leaving her critically injured. She succumbed to her injuries in the DMCH around 1pm.
Inspector Bachchu Mia of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp confirmed the news to the media.
In Noakhali, a man died when a bus rammed a motorcycle in Gubua upashahar area under Begumganj upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Yasin, 35, son of one late Nurul Islam, a resident of Senbug upazila.
Begumganj Police Station officer-in-charge Nur-e-Alam said.In Naogaon, a Police Officer was killed in a tragic accident in Raninagr area when he was talking over mobile phone on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Akteruzzamn, Sub-Inspector of Bangladesh Police.
