At least six persons, including three women were killed and two injured when a sand-laden truck hit an auto-rickshaw in Sujanagar upazila of Pabna on Monday morning.
Five of the victims have been identified as auto rickshaw driver: Abul Kalam, 30, Sadhon Das, 65, Abdul Malek Shikder, Hasna Begum, 40, and Lipi Akhter, 32.
Four persons died on the spot, while two others died in the hospital as a loaded truck rammed into an auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Pabna highway in Ahmmadpur area of
Sujanagar upazila at around 8:00am, said Aminpur Police Station OC Tazul Huda.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, the police official said.
We seized the truck and its driver fled from the spot instantly, the OC said.
A case was filed in this connection, he said.
