A team of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested six persons from different parts of the capital early Saturday for their alleged involvement in Moghbazar triple murder.The arrested persons have been identified as Al Amin, 24, Saifulla Siam 24, Ramjan Ali, 20, Rubel Mia Sani. 25, Maruf Hossain, 24, and Safin Laskar.With this, 10 accused have so far been arrested, RAB officials said.Major Rumman Mahmud, Deputy Director (media wing) of the elite force confirmed the matter in a pres briefing in the city and said that the RAB members conducted a drive and arrested six persons with arms.RAB sources said, during the primary interrogation, the detainees confessed their involvement in the murders.On August 28 night, Kailla Babu, a local terrorist, along with some other terrorists went to the house of Munna and Ranu at Sonalibagh and demanded extortion from them. Failing to get extortion, Babu shot at them, leaving three dead on the spot. The deceased were Ranu Akhter, her brother Munna and one Billal.Md Shamim alias Kalachan, elder brother of victim Ranu, filed a case with Ramna Police Station on August 29.Shah Alam Khondakar alias Kala Babu, the prime accused in the Moghbazar triple murder case was killed in a “gunfight” with the members of Detective Branch (DB) of police at Mogbazar on September 15.
