An organized gang, identifying themselves as members of Detective Branch (DB) of police, has been looting money by targeting those people who transact large sums of money from banks.
Based on a specific complaint, the Illegal Arms Recovery and Narcotics Control Team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Detective Motijheel Division arrested six members of the gang along with hand-cuff and fake DB jackets from the city’s Motijheel Toyenbee Circular Road in a raid on Sunday night.
DMP’s Additional Commissioner (DB) Harun Or Rashid said this at a press conference organized at DMP’s media centre on Monday.
The arrestees are Farid Uddin, 50, Parvez, 35, Saiful Islam alias Nadim, 30, Shafiqul Islam alias Babul, 50, Jashim 34 and Md Nasir, 38.
