Six get jail term for producing fake antibiotic

A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion [RAB] awarded imprisonment to six persons for their alleged involvement in producing fake antibiotic in a factory at Kalshi in city’s Mirpur area on Monday. Of them, two people including the factory owner awarded two-year imprisonment.
RAB also sealed off a fake pharmaceutical industry named Sed Pharmaceuticals (Ayurvedic) Limited.
Executive Magistrate Anwar Pasha conducted the raid and gave imprisonment to the culprits.  
The people who were sent to jail had been identified as Sanjoy Barui, Md Kawsar, Saiful Islam, Ashim Howlader, Mofazzal Khandaker and Dashrata Madhu.
Additional Director, Major Salah Uddin Mahmud of RAB-2 said that such operation would continue in different areas in future. RAB sources said that, a team of RAB-2 conducted a raid at Palashnagar of Kalshi in Mirpur Sector No.11 on Monday morning.
RAB said that, the authorities of Sed Pharmaceuticals Limited got license to produce ayurvedic medicine. But they had been producing allopathic medicines in the name of famous companies. They already have made one lakh fake Zimax medicines, which is a third generation antibiotic, using dice of a reputed pharmaceutical company.
Production Manager, Md Kawsar said that they have already produced three lakh pieces of this fake medicine and supplied to the market by Sed Pharmaceuticals.
