Six business entities have evaded Taka 2.83 crore customs duties by providing false information in their import declaration forms.
In an inspection of the Customs Valuation and Audit (CVA) department, the officials have found the irregularities in 18 import challans.
The business entities are Solaiman Printing, Unilever Bangladesh, Ridhika Trading, Option Plus, SR Trading and LJ Enterprise.
National Board of Revenue (NBR) Commissioner of the Customs Valuation and Internal Audit Dr Moinul Khan said the business houses evaded the customs duties through changing the CPC (Customs Procedure Code) fraudulently.
Necessary legal actions will be taken in the regard, he added.
