Six BCL men suspended from BijoyEkattor Hall for beating

The Dhaka University’s Bijoy Ekattor Hall authorities suspended six Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists permanently for clubbing two residential students of the Hall.
The decision was taken on Monday confirmed by Professor Abdul Basir, the provost of the hall.
The action was taken against Mass Communication and Journalism Department student Nayeemur Rashid, Management and Information Department student Sabbir Al Hasan and Criminology Department student Sofiullah Sumon. They are students of 2018-19 academic years.
The other suspended students were Masfiur Rahman of Social Welfare and Research Department, Md Firoz Alom Opi of Management and Information Department, and Abdullah Al Maruf of Islamic History and Culture. They are students of 2019-20 academic years.
Moreover, on 26 March morning, the two students were beaten in his dormitories room by those BCL activities. Later, a probe committee was formed to investigate the matter.
After investigation, the committee recommended to suspend the students for involving in hostile activities. The Hall administration took action according to the committee recommendations.
