Agency :Terming the ongoing agitation programmes like blockade and hartals (shutdown) as hellish activities for the economy of the country, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith hoped that the prevailing situation will improve in a week. “The ongoing political turmoil is hellish for our economy. I hope the crisis would be solved in a week, he said.The minister made the remark while talking to journalists after a meeting with the European Union head of delegation in Dhaka Pierre Mayaudon at the secretariat on Thursday. “The political situation was all right for a year after the January 5 election. But I did not think that the prevailing situation could be so long this year,” Muhith said.The minister also termed the blockade programme of BNP as a foolish thing.About the meeting with EU head of delegation in Dhaka Pierre Mayaudon, the Finance Minister said that they discussed various issues of economic ties of Bangladesh with the European countries.
