BSS, Dhaka :
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque on Saturday blamed former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha for making controversial the post of Chief Justice and continuing to hatch conspiracy against Bangladesh.
“No corrupt individual like SK SInha was seen in the history of Bangladesh judiciary before. He is continuing to hatch conspiracy against the state both
at home and aboard,” the minister said while speaking at a discussion organized by Bangladesh Online Activists Forum (BOAF) at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) here.
He said Sinha not only tarnished the dignity and honour of the post of the Chief Justice, but also trampled the Constitution of Bangladesh.
Mozammel demanded of the authorities concerned to bring him back to Bangladesh immediately for ensuring his trial.
The minister was very critical of Sinha, the 21st Chief Justice of Bangladesh, saying, “He (Sinha) is now maintaining a very good contact with Tareq Rahman and Priya Saha. So it is state’s responsibility to bring him to justice as none is above the law.”
BOAF president Kabir Chowdhury presided over the discussion on “Corruption of Former Chief Justice SK Sinha and Misuse of Power,”
Former Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam, MP, former JPC President Shahfiqur Rahman, MP, journalist and columnist Swadesh Ray and General Secretary of Bangladesh Open University Teachers’ Association Prof Arifa Rahman Ruma, among others, spoke.
