Sinha murder case 7th phase of deposition underway

A Cox’s Bazar court here on Monday started recording statements of witnesses in seventh phase in Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case.
District and Sessions Judges Court Judge Mohammad Ismail Hossain started the day’s procedure at 10.30am with recording statement of Sub-inspector (SI) of Teknaf Police Station Kamal Hossain, said public prosecutor (PP) of Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge’s Court Faridul Alam.
Earlier around 9:30 am, 15 accused in the case, including OC Pradeep, were brought to the court under tight security. A total of 59 witnesses have testified before the court so far. According to the charge sheet, there are in total 83 witnesses in the case.
Sinha was killed in police firing at a check post in Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf upazila on July 31 last year.
His elder sister filed the murder case with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court against Pradeep, Nandadulal and several others on August 5 last year.
