Singer Subir Nandi has died in a Singapore hospital at the age of 66 after suffering multiple heart attacks, says a doctor.
Doctor Samanta Lal Sen in Dhaka, who supervised the singer’s deteriorating health conditions and treatment arrangements in Singapore, confirmed the death news.
The revered singer had suffered the fourth heart attacks during his ongoing ailment at the Singapore General Hospital on Monday, according to Dr Sen.
The coordinator of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s burns unit was supervising Nandi’s treatment arrangements on instructions from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Subir Nandi, an Ekushey Padak winner, was taken to Singapore on Apr 30. He was first admitted to Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka on Apr 14 after he fell ill on his way to Dhaka from Sylhet.
He was shifted to the coronary care unit when his condition worsened. Later, he was put on life support.
Hasina then suggested he be sent to Singapore for advanced treatment. –bdnews24.com
