Campus Life :
When a student passes the ninth grade, he has to choose a specific department. The decision has to be made thoughtfully. Naturally, a student at that age does not become so. Often there is no one in his family who can help him make this important decision. Thus a large part of the students in Bangladesh suffer from lack of proper direction. After different levels of education including HSC, SSC, they have to face the dilemma, which of the many options will they take, or which path will they choose to reach the latent destination of their mind. Realizing this problem, some students of University of Dhaka came forward. Three years ago they formed SILSWA, a voluntary organization, with the aim of building a large student community; Where students will selflessly provide all kinds of academic and social support including necessary directions, notes, tutorials to the students.
SILSWA has already crossed the three-year path. SILSWA is now a well-known and popular name in the student community. SILSWA’s relentless activities are going on every day of the year on the internet and in the field.
Students are being given guidance on department selection, college admission, university admission process. Besides, SILSWA is helping SSC, HSC and university admissions students through Facebook group and YouTube.
Inspiring students to be interested in various creative activities including writing, literature and art. That is why SILSWA organizes various competitions throughout the year. University students are also getting involved with SILSWA for skill development, free training opportunities.
Apart from Dhaka University, more than 300 students from different universities of the country are currently working directly with SILSWA. Hundreds of school-college representatives are involved with SILSWA.
They play an important role in reaching out to their classmates. In this corona situation when the education system is stagnant, SILSWA has come forward with various activities including live classes for students, career talk shows. Those who are involved with SILSWA said that SILSWA was formed out of the responsibility to do something for the country and the society. SILSWA dreams of a sound education system. Where everyone will read to learn and spread themselves to the needs of society. Currently working in SILSWA, there are many who have received SILSWA’s services at the secondary and Intermediate level.
