Bangladeshi app company SIGMIND is working to introduce technology on face detection and car number plate identification to lessen crimes.
The number plate and mugshot of cars and individuals would be available through footage analysis software based on SIGMIND watch cam, said a press release.
About 90 per cent of the crimes can be controlled with the technology while results would be available through analysing the footage within a very short time, said SIGMIND chief executive officer Abu Anas Shuvam.
If the technology can be adjoined with hundreds of cameras in Dhaka, he thinks, the manpower of monitoring cell of crime control agencies would be reduced to 50 per cent.
Company managing director Tanvir Tabassum said that the local software should be used to promote those in the international arena.
The watch cam would play vital role to ensure security not in government sectors but also in private sectors, said chief sales and marketing officer Arif Hossain.
Various government agencies including Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority are already using the software for their building safety, the release mentioned.
