Former head coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Jamie Siddons has been appointed Batting Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team.
Ashwell Prince, the Batting Coach of Bangladesh team gave resignation on Wednesday due to family reasons. The South African has submitted his resignation letter to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday. Thus, the BCB has no barrier to appoint Jamie Siddons as the Batting Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team. Earlier, the Australian-born acted as the Head Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team for a long period.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the BCB Nizamuddin Chowdhury Sujan said, ” We have brought Jamie Siddons after giving an appointment as the Batting Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team. His tenure has started since Thursday.”
It may be mentioned that there was an agreement between the BCB and Ashwell Prince. BCB was not satisfied with the performance of Ashwell Prince. But BCB could not bid him good-bye as the agreement was not concluded. But as Ashwell Prince gave resignation, BCB had no obstacle to give appointment to Jamie Siddons. Jamie is an experienced coach. He served as head coach of Bangladesh Cricket team from 2007 to 2011. During his tenure, Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad and Shakib Al Hasan improved their batting performance.
The 57-year-old Australian-born Batting Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team passed his time after observing and watching the performance of Bangladesh cricketer during the ongoing matches of BPL Cricket.
The BCB hinted that Ashwell Prince probably thought that the BCB had any plan about Siddons and Siddons would be the replacement of Ashwell Prince. But BCB stated that Ashwell could act with the High Performance Unit or Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team. But Prince gave resignation and finished his activities with BCB.
