Siddikur slips to 55th after 3rd round

Siddikur Rahman slipped to 55th from joint 46th place after the 3rd round of the ongoing Rio Olympic at Olympic Golf Course on Saturday night (Bangladesh time).
The 31-year-old double Asian Tour winner Siddikur scored overall seven-over-par 220 after the 3rd round, 19 shots behind the leader Rose Justin of UK. Justin scored 12-under-par 201, followed by Swedish golfer Stenson Henrik with 11-under-par 201.
In the 3rd round, Siddikur traded four bogies to score four-over-par 75. He traded a bogey in the 1st hole and played eight-even-par to complete the 1st session, then traded three dismal bogies in the 10th, 12th and 17th holes of the 2nd session.
Earlier, Siddikur shared the 56th place after the first round with four-over-par 75 while advanced to 46th in the 2nd round playing one-under-par 70.
Meanwhile, Siddikur was playing his 4th and final round on Sunday till the filing of this report.
However, Siddikur is the first sportsman for Bangladesh who qualified for the Olympics on merit.
The five other — archer Shamoli, shooter Abdullah Hel Baki, swimmer Sonia Akhter, athlete Shirin Akhter and Mesbah Ahmed — Bangladesh’s participants made their early exit from the Rio Olympic 2016.
