UNB, Dhaka :
After a dismal finished in the Bangladesh Open with joint 26th place at home on Saturday, country’s pioneer golfer Siddikur Rahman set to leave for China tonight to play in the Asia Pacific Classic.
This is for the first time Siddikur is going to play in the $300,000 event, which will kick off at St Andrews Golf Club in Henan on Thursday (May 17).
“This is for the first time I’m going to play in an event where the course is new for me. My target is always to do better. I hope I will get back my form in Asia Pacific Classic, though I could not play good at home ground this week. I know it’s a part of the game,” Siddikur told UNB.
The two-time Asian Tour winner Siddikur will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:00am tonight and expected to return home on May 28.
Siddikur shared the 26th spot with seven other golfers in the just concluded $300,000 AB Bank Bangladesh Open at home ground Kurmitola Golf Club course which ended on Saturday.
He aggregated one-under-par 283[72-69-70-72] in a 6642-yard course and won a prize money of $2531.
