Two brothers drowned in the river Sutia at Gafargaon under Mymensingh. The deceased were identified as Sium (8) and Maruf (8). They were cousins. This incident happened at Pythol village of this Upazila.
After Namaje-Janaja the two brothers have been buried in the family graveyard on Saturday 9.pm..Before that the tragic incident happened in the Sutia river on Saturday afternoon. The deceased Siam son Firuj Mea of Pythol village, was the student of class four at Pythol Government Primary School. Maruf son Abul Hussain at Beldia village of Kawraid Union under Sreepur Upazila , Gajipur. was the student of class four.
Sources from deceased family after Eid Abul Hussain at Beldia village of Kawraid Union under Sreepur Upazila , Gajipur came to his brother-in lows’ Firuj Mea of Pythol village with his son Maruf ,a student of class four. Later, Maruf and Siam went to the bank of the river Sutia to play on Saturday 3pm. At one point, Maruf fell down in the river, and Siam jumed into the river to rescue Siam. But two drowned in the river. Later, getting information ,after trying about one hour the two dead bodies were recovered 250 feet away from the spot.
Headmaster Abdul Mannan of Pythol Sarkerbari Govt. Primary school said, hearing the news, the teachers and the villagers were very much shocked at the death of two students.
